In detail
Auditing

An audit trail nobody can edit

Every sign-in, transfer, permission change and deletion is recorded with who did it, when, and from which IP address.

The database itself refuses to update or delete those rows — including for us. That is a database rule, not a promise in a policy document. Export the lot as CSV the moment an auditor asks.

Access control

IP whitelisting

Restrict a service to the addresses and ranges you actually trust, so a leaked credential is useless from anywhere else. One toggle cuts access entirely if something looks wrong.

Authentication

Passwords and SSH keys

Every account authenticates with a password or an SSH public key, whichever the other end can handle — and different accounts on the same service can use different methods.

Passwords are stored hashed. Paste in a public key and the partner who uses it never needs a password at all.

Permissions

Read, write and delete, per account

Grant each account exactly what it needs. A partner who only drops files off never gets the ability to read what else is in there, and a collection account never gets delete.

Isolation

One service per relationship

Each SFTP service gets its own home directory, its own accounts and its own storage quota. Nothing crosses between them, so one client's files are never one misconfigured permission away from another's.

Sovereignty

Australian-based, Australian-owned

Proficiens is Australian-owned and Australian-run, registered under ABN 67 612 478 445 — look it up on the Australian Business Register rather than taking our word for it.

It runs on Google Cloud in Sydney. Your files, your account and your audit trail all live in the same Australian region and are not replicated offshore.

Setup

Two minutes, not two weeks

Sign up, name a service, add an account. There is no server to provision, no OpenSSH config to write, no firewall ticket to raise and no patching roster to join afterwards.

Trial

14 days, no obligation, no card

The trial asks for an email address and nothing else — no credit card at any point, so there is nothing on file that could quietly start charging you.

If you don't come back, nothing happens. If you do, you pick a plan then, not now.

Privacy

We can't read your files

Our admin console manages services, accounts and plans. It has no file browser — support can see that a file moved, its name and its size, never its contents.

Card details never reach our servers either; your browser sends them straight to Stripe.

Quotas

Storage limits that are real

Each service has its own storage quota — the limit is per service, not a total across your account — enforced on the filesystem itself, so a runaway upload stops instead of quietly becoming a bill. You can see exactly what a service is using in the dashboard.

Portability

No lock-in

It's standard SFTP, not a proprietary client or an agent you have to install. Anything you already use — WinSCP, FileZilla, a shell script, your ETL tool — connects without changes.

Your files leave the same way they arrived. Close the account and the data goes with you.

Support

A person, not a ticket queue

support@proficiens.io reaches someone who works on this system. Managed SFTP is our first service and we're building the business around it, so you'll get someone who knows how it works — and no roadmap promises we can't keep.

Evaluating us for a client's data? Ask anything that isn't answered here — we'd rather field the hard questions before you commit than after.
